Where does Hayden gets her artistic eye?...

The answer is not what everyone would expect....

Papa Doug was very willing to show Hayden a thing or two about painting with watercolors.  Hayden had requested Papa Doug show her how to make a piggie and a house.  Grandpa Doug agreed and gave an excellent effort, as all can see in his wonderful artwork.  Both pieces of art made it on the fridge.

The belly laugh.....

Big sister Hayden Elizabeth was the first to get Jack to laugh.  She was jumping up and down in her panda bear pajamas and Jack thought that was VERY funny.  However, by the time mommy thought to get the camera out to record the two of them, Jack had stopped.  So this recording is his second encounter with finding his laugh.  Daddy got Jack going this time.  Anytime Daddy laughed....Jack decided to join in as well.  Very cute:)

And he rolls....

Jack rolled over from his stomach to his back!  He was never too keen on spending time on his tummy so it was real motivation to make something happen.  It was very entertaining to see the surprised look on his face when he did it.  It took him a minute to get his bearings back and not long after he needed mommy to rescue him.

Hayden turns 3....

Hayden just loves Curious George.  So her 3rd birthday party she decided she wanted a "Curious" birthday party.  To help us celebrate Hayden shared her birthday party with Grandma Vicki who also had a birthday on October 27th.  We had the Wing Aunts and Uncles and cousins: Grace, TJ, Riley Jo, Taylor, Millie and August up for the celebration.  Her favorite gift was from Uncle Josh and Aunt Chelle. It was a stuffed Curious George that she fell in love with from the moment they met.  He didn't leave her side for most of the day.

Trick or Treat....

Jonah as Indiana Jones, Kailey as Tinkerbell, and Hayden as a Strawberry.

This year Hayden went as a strawberry. Jack went as himself for his first Halloween.  Jack and mommy stayed in and handed out candy to all the visitors, while Daddy and Hayden went around the neighborhood knocking door to door.  Hayden just loved saying, "Trick or treat" and thought it was awesome that people were giving away chocolate.  It was a dream come true.  The her best buds, Jonah, and Kailey came by, along with the Lawrence, Hoeger and Reimer crews.

The many faces of Jack......

Unfortunately, Jack's sad face appeared most of his early weeks of life:(  Dr. Mullen's insight into acid reflux helped turn his frown upside down.  Jack's condition didn't give him a lot of sleep or many happy moments early on, but we are glad 2ml of Prevacid once a day can remedy that!  Thank you Dr. Mullen.

Hayden and Jack meet Cousin Augie

Seth, April and new Cousin August came to visit.  August was born 4 days after Jack and these two cousins will be best buds for a lifetime to come.  We can't wait to see the two of them together when they get older.  They will have so much fun together.

Taking her role very seriously.....

Miss Hayden Elizabeth has been welcoming her new brother with open arms.  She is not quite sure about sharing mommy and daddy yet, but she is happy that new baby brother Jack is home.  She has enjoyed taking opportunities to hold him and read to him.  She's been a great big sister and always willing to help.

Meeting J.P.

All of our immediate family members came to visit Jack in the hospital.  Probably the most curious visitor was his older sister Hayden.

Everyone fell in love the second they met him.  He was a sweet little babe.

Our Jack is born....

On August 23, 2012 @ 10:10 pm - Jack Phillip Reimer was born.  He weighed 8lbs 11oz and measured 21 1/2 in long with a lot of blonde hair.  His labor and delivery went very smoothly. Jack was delivered by Dr. Erika O'Donnell at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque.  Grandma Vicki, Grandpa Mike, and Aunt Michelle were there with mommy and daddy to welcome Jack into this world.  Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Doug were waiting by the phone to hear the great news and taking good care of big sister Hayden while mom and dad were away.

"Look Mommy and Daddy - my first fish!"

Together we spent a Sunday celebrating Papa Mike's 60th birthday out at the Cabin.  Hayden loved the Rhino rides, playing on the Slip-N-Slide, hanging with the cousins,  singing happy birthday, and fishing.  Uncle Josh helped Hayden catch her first fish at the pond and Hayden was thrilled.  Art and Ashley's dog McGyver even got into the fishing action and jumped in the pond to re-catch Hayden's fish;)  Hayden thought that was very silly.

She had a great day and always loves being outdoors.

The 3 Amigos and Niabi Zoo

While Daddy was in South Carolina, Mommy and Hayden decided to spend some time at Grandma and Grandpa Wing's house.  So part of stay, we thought it was a good opportunity to head to Niabi Zoo for our annual trip.  Grandma Vicki treated Hayden and her cousins, Grace and TJ to a day at the zoo and they had a such a great time.

Something new Hayden got to do at the zoo this year was take a pony ride and feed the Lorakeets all by herself.  She loved seeing all the animals, but especially liked the, elephants, giraffes and feeding the ducks and Coi fish.

Another favorite event was riding the train and the carousel.  She loved the carousel so much she had to  ride it twice!

Thanks for a great day Grandma Vicki!  We all had so much fun.

New wheels...

The Barbie Jeep was a hand-me-down from Lily Hoeger.  Hayden couldn't be more thrilled about  having her own set of wheels to turn and burn around Grandma Kathy's and Grandpa Doug's farm.  She has really enjoyed learning to ride this new battery operated car.  Mom and Dad have laughed several times watching her learn as well.  I think our next purchase will be a helmet....especially the way she drives;)  We do our best just to keep up.

Little Sparkler....

Hayden thoroughly enjoyed this year's 4th of July festivities in Garnavillo.  Even though the weather was scorching hot and almost unbearable for pregnant mommy and daddy we still made every event imaginable. The annual teddy bear parade, the Firecracker 5K, the 4th of July parade and Jason and Lesa's for fireworks.  It was a great time and her favorite part of the weekend was seeing the fireworks and doing sparklers with daddy.
